Mission and History

As an FQHC, Wilmington Community Clinic provides quality, non-discriminatory health services to improve the health and wellbeing of all served, regardless of their ability to pay.

Wilmington Community Clinic (WCC) was founded in 1977 by Dr. Xylina Bean and Rosa Montano in response to a critical need for maternal and child healthcare in the Wilmington community and became a Federally Qualified Health Center in 2012. Although we began primarily as a family planning clinic, over the years, WCC’s patients and services have continually evolved and grown. Today, WCC is the Harbor Region’s trusted intergenerational health home, supporting whole health for everyone, from infants to elders.
